Darigold Consumer Products business has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished, margin growth focused leader to join our team as we endeavor to create sustainable success for our century old farmer-owned company. The Senior Director of Sales, Grocery & Mass Channels, is responsible for building and leading a team focused upon creating sustainable and profitable volume, share and margin growth, by building strategic partnerships with critical Retailers and Wholesalers, that operate in the Grocery and Mass Merchant Channels, through executional excellence of business fundamentals.


As a member of the senior leadership team of the Consumer Business, reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, this role will require the analytical agility, customer savvy and business systems acumen to maximize total enterprise value with customers across several dairy categories and product offerings to include private label co-manufacturing and branded products. The primary objective of the role will be to drive value-added, branded sales growth within and outside of our core markets (WA, OR, ID, MT).


This role will directly manage complex Corporate level relationships and will lead, develop, and manage Account Managers and third-party agents and brokers. This role should be capable of handling complex contract negotiations and new business RFP bids and be able to drive national expansion of branded premium fluid products. Additionally, this role should be capable of building new business processes and sales disciplines that enhance Darigold Branded performance.


This role will need to be a skilled internal influencer and will need to successfully partner with cross functional teammates in Ingredients, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, IT, HR, the Northwest Dairy Association Field Team to drive optimal results and total enterprise value.


This role will be operating out of Boise, ID, to be close to top customers, close to our most important consumer products plant and to be close our farmers.


What You Will Do:

Leadership

  • Synthesize customer, consumer, category, competitive, and company insights into executable strategies and tactics that drive enterprise value in the form of volume, margin and share growth
  • Lead team to build strategic account relationships that elevate above transactional pricing and trade, leveraging all the assets and value provided by the Darigold enterprise to include quality farmers, quality products, efficient customer service, innovative new products and efficient customer marketing.
  • Build a team culture that embodies the vision, purpose and values of Darigold.
  • Be a positive agent of change

What You Will Bring:

  • Creating sustainable success in driving year over year growth in volume, margin and share.

  • Develop a repeatable and predictable sales methodology and supporting trade, forecasting, business management processes.
  • Lead strategic account planning with significant national and multinational accounts that drives success across multiple categories and business relationship types (ie Private Label and Branded).
  • Successfully execute within a transformational environment that requires resourcefulness and grit.

Nice To Have's:

  • 10 + years of Consumer Products Food experience, private label management a plus
  • Significant Sales leadership experience managing multiple strategic customers, with full Customer P&L management
  • Multi-disciplinary experience in Sales Planning, Trade Promotion Management, S&OP preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree a plus
